Change Of Season

Do you feel the change of seasons coming on? It's in the air and all around us.  Sometimes it’s our skin that makes us take notice of the daylight hours waning and temperatures dropping.  Those of us who avoid the cold may find ourselves retreating inside more. As we increase the temperature on our thermostat, we decrease the moisture in the air.  As a result our troubled skin areas can become more pronounced and require attention.

On the other hand, those who eagerly await the weather may feel the crispness of the air prickle the nose and skin as it constricts to block out the elements.  It’s unavoidable; the weather can take a toll! The combination of wind and rain can be harsh on our skin and cause dryness, chapping and extra-sensitivity.

It’s just like anything else in life though, awareness and attention are the keys to adjusting to change with grace and flow.  With awareness we’re able to check-in with ourselves and bring attention to our needs, then gather the facts and guidance needed to make informed decisions.  The follow-through is essential though!  Self-care requires an action-plan!  Here’s one you may adapt to suit your skincare needs

HYDRATE!  Internally and topically! If you’re like me, I find it difficult to drink enough water when it’s cold and rainy. On chilly mornings, I fill the kettle for tea, and make a mental note to finish that whole pot by the end of the day.  Lemon and honey are the perfect additions to ward off illness and boost the immune system.

Give your skin a fighting chance to face the elements with moisturizers that penetrate and heal.  The Lotion has that name for a reason— it’s the one to grab for skin in need of deep hydration, it’s richly nourishing and will provide the vitamins and nutrients needed to rejuvenate your skin after being out in the weather. Organic extra virgin olive oil, organic beeswax, organic wilelaiki (Christmas berry) and honey work in combination to hydrate and promote cell regeneration.  It’s ideal for the whole body and yet gentle enough to use on the face.

Special attention is needed for the face.  Besides our neck and chest, it’s the thinnest skin on our body and requires extra TLC.  In addition, it’s often the only spot on our body that’s not protected with clothes!  As a result, it’s constantly exposed to the elements. The HGO Face & Eye cream is the best face/neck moisturizer and anti-aging cream in the skin care industry.  It softens and nourishes your skin while diminishing fine lines and wrinkles by using only the highest quality organic beeswax. It helps repair and protect your skin from harsh environmental elements while hydrating and nourishing for suppleness.

Many of us are so busy in our day-to-day lives; we don’t feel we can take the time necessary to truly care for our skin as needed.  However, we forget that when we turn in for the night, we can turn on “hydration therapy” simply by applying the Honey Girl Organics .   After a warm bath or shower, gently pat dry, leaving skin moist.  Apply The Lotion all over body and face.  Afterwards, add a thin layer of the Night Cream to your face and neck.  Breathe in the warmth and aloha, and know that come morning, your skin will be nourished and ready for the day.

We at Honey Girl Organics wish you much joy as you welcome the changing of season, the bounty of the harvest and the rewards of caring for yourself and beloveds.  Aloha!
